HOW WE DO IT:
BRISTOL ELIMINATING SUBSTANCE USE TOGETHER BEGAN IN THE EARLY 1990S AS THE BRISTOL YOUTH PREVENTION COUNCIL.
IN SEPTEMBER OF 2016 WE WERE AWARDED DRUG FREE COMMUNITIES GRANT (DFC), A FIVE TO TEN YEAR FEDERAL GRANT OF $125,000 PER YEAR.
SINCE THAT TIME THE COALITION HAS BEEN ENGAGING AND COLLABORATING WITH ALL SECTORS OF THE COMMUNITY TO DELIVER SUBSTANCE MISUSE PREVENTION SERVICES across bristol ALL OF THE PREVENTION WORK THAT BEST DOES IS GUIDED BY A MODEL THAT IS GROUNDED IN SCIENCE AND EFFECTIVE AT REDUCING YOUTH SUBSTANCE USE. THE STRATEGIC PREVENTION FRAMEWORK (SPF) IS A PLANNING PROCESS FOR PREVENTING SUBSTANCE USE THAT IS UTILIZED BY COALITIONS ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

BEST offers free NARCAN/QPR trainings, Peer Educator Opportunties, Teen Nights, Youth and Community Coalition to keep the community engaged, aware and informed.
